If your boat lives in a Miami-Dade or Broward marina, you already know what South Florida’s warm water does to a hull. Barnacles appear within weeks. Slime and algae follow. And once growth takes hold, your fuel efficiency drops, your speed drops, and your bottom paint breaks down faster than it should.
At Aqua Pro Yacht Maintenance, we clean boat hulls underwater at the dock — no haul-out, no travel lift, no days out of the water. We work across 15+ major marinas in Miami-Dade and Broward County, . Here are the marinas we serve most often, and what boat owners there need to know about hull cleaning in Miami.
Miami-Dade Marinas
1. Miami Beach Marina
Location: 300 Alton Rd, Miami Beach, FL 33139
Fleet: Sportfishers, motor yachts, center consoles, sailing vessels
One of the largest full-service marinas on Florida’s east coast, Miami Beach Marina hosts everything from weekend cruisers to serious offshore fishing boats. In Biscayne Bay’s warm water, hull fouling is aggressive — many owners here schedule underwater hull cleaning every 4–6 weeks.
2. Dinner Key Marina
Location: 3400 Pan American Dr, Miami, FL 33133
Fleet: Liveaboards, cruising sailboats, trawlers
The largest marina complex in South Florida, Dinner Key is home to hundreds of liveaboard vessels and long-term slip holders. Biofouling accumulates fast in this protected bay. Our divers regularly service boats here that cannot be hauled out due to their liveaboard status.
3. Crandon Park Marina
Location: 4000 Crandon Blvd, Key Biscayne, FL 33149
Fleet: Day-use boats, sportfishing, recreational
Key Biscayne’s marina sits at the edge of clear Biscayne Bay water. While the water looks clean, barnacle growth is still significant. Boats here often have fiberglass hulls that benefit from our soft-bristle hull cleaning approach, which protects paint while removing growth.
4. Coconut Grove Sailing Club
Location: Coconut Grove, Miami, FL
Fleet: Sailboats, small keelboats, racing dinghies
Sailboat keels and rudders accumulate growth fast — and even a thin layer of slime adds measurable drag to a racing hull. We service keelboats here regularly, paying close attention to the keel-to-hull joint where growth hides.
5. Matheson Hammock Park Marina
Location: 9610 Old Cutler Rd, Coral Gables, FL 33156
Fleet: Small power boats, day sailors, kayaks
A quieter park marina in Coral Gables, Matheson Hammock serves weekend boaters and local families. Smaller boats benefit from quarterly hull cleaning to maintain performance on Biscayne Bay day trips.
6. Haulover Park Marina
Location: 10800 Collins Ave, North Miami Beach, FL 33154
Fleet: Sportfishing, center consoles, flats boats
Haulover is famous for its inlet and the serious sportfishing fleet that passes through it daily. High-performance fishing boats here need clean hulls to reach offshore grounds efficiently. We serve Haulover regularly as part of our North Miami Beach route.
7. Aventura Marina
Location: Aventura, FL
Fleet: Luxury motor yachts, mega-yachts
Aventura’s Intracoastal waterway is home to some of South Florida’s most impressive private yachts. We service vessels here with the same care regardless of size — before-and-after photos, Florida DEP approved products, and NAUI certified divers on every job.
Broward County Marinas
8. Bahia Mar Yachting Center
Location: 801 Seabreeze Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316
Fleet: Motor yachts, sportfishers, mega-yachts, transient vessels
One of Fort Lauderdale’s most recognized marinas, Bahia Mar is a stopping point for yachts moving up and down the ICW. Many owners schedule hull cleaning in Fort Lauderdale here between passages. We’re familiar with the dock layout and can work efficiently within their schedule.
9. Pier 66 Marina
Location: 2301 SE 17th St, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316
Fleet: Hotel guests, transient mega-yachts, charter vessels
Pier 66 attracts transient vessels from across the Caribbean and East Coast. Short stays mean owners often want hull cleaning done quickly and professionally. Our team can mobilize to Fort Lauderdale marinas with one day’s notice.
10. Harbour Towne Marina
Location: 850 NE 3rd St, Dania Beach, FL 33004
Fleet: Commercial fishing, dive boats, sportfishers
A working marina near Port Everglades, Harbour Towne is home to charter boats and commercial operators who need their hulls clean for regulatory compliance and fuel efficiency. We understand the commercial schedule and work around it.
11. Hollywood Marina
Location: Hollywood, FL
Fleet: Mixed recreational fleet
Hollywood’s Intracoastal Waterway marina serves a mix of permanent slip holders and seasonal visitors. The relatively shallow and warm water here accelerates fouling, making biannual hull cleaning a minimum — and monthly cleaning the standard for boats used regularly.
12. Pompano Beach Municipal Marina
Location: Pompano Beach, FL
Fleet: Sportfishing, recreational powerboats
Pompano Beach is known for its offshore fishing, and the boats that work those waters need clean hulls. We cover Pompano Beach as part of our northern Broward route, typically grouping jobs on the same day to keep scheduling efficient for boat owners.
13. North Lake Worth Lagoon Area
Location: Boynton Beach / West Palm Beach border
Fleet: Year-round liveaboards, sailing vessels
The northern end of our service area, we serve boats in the Lake Worth Lagoon system on a scheduled basis. Liveaboard vessels here benefit most from our no haul-out cleaning since taking the boat out of the water is not practical for full-time residents.
14. Miami River Marinas
Location: Miami River corridor, Downtown Miami
Fleet: Cargo vessels, fishing boats, small commercial craft
The Miami River hosts a working maritime community. Commercial boat operators here often have strict maintenance schedules and require documentation of services. We provide written service reports and before-and-after photos for every job — useful for insurance and regulatory purposes.
15. Biscayne Bay Anchorages
Location: Various anchorages, Biscayne Bay
Fleet: Cruising sailors, liveaboards at anchor
Not all boats in South Florida are in a marina slip. Boats anchored in Biscayne Bay accumulate growth just as fast — sometimes faster in shallower, warmer water. We can service anchored vessels with our dive team and inflatable support boat.
How Often Should You Clean Your Hull in Miami?
In South Florida waters, the general guideline is every 4–8 weeks for boats that are regularly used, and every 6–12 weeks for boats that sit in a slip. The warmer the water and the more sun exposure, the faster growth accumulates. Boats moored in protected bays (like Dinner Key or the ICW) often grow fouling faster than boats in open water due to higher nutrient content in sheltered water.
